The code of Atlas Copco's hydraulic drifters, such as COP 1838ME, is composed of 4 parts (digits or numbers) shown in Table 3. The guide of the 4 parts are shown in Table 4.

There are 4 digits in the code of Atlas Copco hydraulic drifters. The first 2 digits indicate the impact power of the drifter, and the last 2 digits indicate the diameter of drill rods. For example, COP3038 indicates that the impact power is 30kW, and the diameter of drill rods is 38 mm. Of course, the impact power represented by the digit is a rough range. For instance, the impact power of COP1238 is actually 12~18 kW, and the impact power of COP1838 is actually 18~22 kW. The rod diameter indicated by the digits indicate a most suitable one, not a certain type, but a range. The impact powers of the drifters and the range of drill rods can be referred to the manual.

However, there are some Atlas Copco hydraulic drifterswhich performance parameters are too different from the actual ones. For example, the maximum pressure of the COP1440 is 17.5 MPa, and the rated impact power at the maximum pressure is 21 kW which is deviated far from 14kW. The COP1338 has the same situation of parameter deviation. These two models have already withdrawn from the market, and not shown in the current models of Atlas Copco’s hydraulic drifters.
